A STORY OF TALENT: SANT’ANNA SCHOOL medical STUDENT AWARDED THREE PRIZES in three weeks for his studies ON science, technology and society

Three awards honored a student who has distinguished himself for outstanding academic achievements. Samuele Cannas, Sant’Anna School student of medicine, was awarded the “Rete di idee 2018”, the “Call for Papers” of “Forum Ferdinando Rossi 2018” and the nomination to attend the “Ferdinando Rossi 2018” forum held in Torino on November 15-16.

The “Rete di idee – Network of Ideas 2018” is a cultural event organized in Catania by the “Italian Network of College Students”. On October 5-7, 2018, Samuele Cannas presented two studies for two different categories: how the rabies virus, which kills about 59,000 people annually, can be considered as effective therapeutic agent and on economic and social impact of tuberculosis and early diagnosis.

Furthemore, Samuele Cannas was nominated to attend the “Forum Ferdinando Rossi 2018” on November 15-16, 2018, in Torino. This event at Campus Luigi Einaudi – Turin, dedicated to smart travel and sustainable mobility, required Higher Education Institutions students to provide environmental best practices and zero waste projects. Cannas presented his original approach for clean vehicles with compressed air hybrid engine.

Samuele Cannas is a multiple award winner. In 2015, the President of the Italian Republic awarded the “Alfiere del lavoro” to Cannas honouring individual excellence as one of the 25 best students in Italy. In 2017, upon the completion of ten years of applied instruction on primary instrument he got his summa cum laude degree in “piano performance”. In the meantime, Samuele Cannas received national and international prizes as a young biomedical scientist who demonstrated exceptional early achievement.
